Green Party Testimonial
On behalf of myself, the elected representatives, the staff and delegates of the Green Party thank you so much for all the efforts that you made to make our Convention a roaring success. It was clear for all to see that the "can do" attitude in the hotel comes from the top and permeates all the staff. Right from the moment we approached the hotel and suggested bringing Convention to Dundalk we were met with a really positive approach. It was a pleasure for us to work with both in the planning and operations phase.
The hotel facilities, especially the banqueting suites, were perfect for our needs. The Tain Suite allowed us to create a very impressive stage set. The media rooms adjacent to the conference room were ideal for accommodating the 30 journalists who attended the Convention. RTE were very pleased with the live broadcast rooms and TV3 were delighted with the Library Suite for the programme "The Political Party". The fact that the car park is on the same level as the banqueting suite and could accommodate outside broadcast trucks made it an ideal venue. Finally the lobby, café, banqueting foyer and bar gave us ample space for delegates to meet, chat and enjoy the Convention. The facilities were ideal for a Convention of this size with as many additional activities going on as there were.
Thank you also to the culinary team who worked so hard to keep our delegates fed with delicious food all weekend. The food and beverage team worked out of their skins all weekend to make the Convention a success and this was sincerely appreciated. Reservations and housekeeping played a huge role in taking care of our delegates and we thank them all for their assistance. The hotel gardens were beautifully manicured and were perfect for the various interviews and photocalls.
Party Leader and Minister for the Environment John Gormley described Convention 2008 as "the best yet" and I am in no doubt but that a large part of that credit goes to the wonderful team at the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk.
